At Blumen, each wedding is artfully crafted pairing the couple’s unique style with our creative expertise. We are committed to creating environments that delight and inspire. With our extensive prop inventory and vast selection of flowers the possibilities are endless.

PROCESS

In our initial meeting, we do a lot of listening and ask a lot of questions, we look at your key photos, and discuss color, texture, scale, budget and expectations. We are skilled at helping you interpret and realize your vision. From that meeting we generate a proposal and design concept. Our process is collaborative and fun but at the same time we’re serious and passionate about our work.

OUR TEAM

Amy Crum, Owner / Designer
Amy has been designing beautiful flowers and events ever since she can remember. She began her floral career in Chicago after obtaining a BFA from The Kansas City Art Institute. After honing her aesthetic sensibilities as a painter, her love of texture, color, and composition are reflected in her flower and design choices. Blumen, started in 1990, is the perfect blend of her artistic passion combined with creative small business entrepreneurship. I am lucky to be surrounded by the exquisite beauty of nature everyday. I am proud of our talented Blumen team and I treasure our relationships with our clients.

Amy lives on the north branch of the Chicago River with her husband, art advocate Paul Klein and their children Iris and Brice. When she’s not designing weddings she can be found in her garden pruning wisteria or transplanting hostas!




Paul Prentice, Head Designer
Creative leader of our team, Paul Prentice blends his wealth of floral knowledge with his passion for home interiors, arts, antiques, travel, and culture. With over two decades in the event business, Paul’s vast design experience and quality event production are unrivaled.

Paul lives in the Edgewater neighborhood with his adorable puppy “Pip”, and he has “great expectations” for the coming season at the Sandwich Antique Market!







Jessica Petty Smith, Office Manager Extraordinaire
Chicago native Jessica began her floral career at blumen in 2005. Jessica’s Masters degree in art history as well as her experience in retail sales are the perfect blend of creative perspective and business savvy make her an integral part of the core blumen team. From your initial friendly phone call, to the “big day” Jessica skillfully manages last minute details, emails, and proposals. She truly wants all our brides to have the wedding of their dreams.

Jessica lives with her husband Ethan and their dog Ruby. She enjoys art, entertaining and being a domestic goddess.
